Our firm is led by Augustus Walter CN Jacobs and Edlyn Ashwini Jacobs, both of whom bring a wealth of expertise and dedication to their respective areas of practice. JACOBS is the Managing Partner of CN Jacobs and who is an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya following his admission to the Bar in 2006. He has been actively practicing for 18 years.
BIOGRAPHY
JACOBS was employed with the Department of Fisheries Malaysia from 1976 to 2005 where he opted for early retirement to pursue his passion in the legal fraternity. His main role in the Department was Aquaculture, Enforcement, licensing, Marine Extension and finally he was appointed as the Chief District Officer for the state of Penang of which his main role besides managing the Fisheries sub-sector was prosecution. He prosecuted countless cases from infringement of foreign fishing vessels in the Malaysian maritime water to unlawful use of explosive for catching fish under the Fisheries Act 1962 and later 1985. Therefore, it is pertinent to note that Jacobs has been walking in out of the courts for thirty-three years (33) being a Departmental Fisheries Prosecutor Officer appointed in 1990 in State of Penang as party of his duties.
It was in 1998/1999 that his passion for law finally prospered when he finally enrolled at the University of Malaya Law Faculty for the Bachelor of Jurisprudence Law Programme of which he graduated in 2002 and subsequently passed the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP). In 2005, Jacobs opted out of the Civil Service to kick start his law carrier in 2006. He joined Messrs Azmat Ravi & Associates as Legal Assistant and eventually appointed as a Partner. During his tenure at Azmat Ravi, Jacobs accumulated a vast reservoir of expertise in legal fraternity.

EDLYN ASHWINI JACOBS

EDLYN is the Partner at Messrs CN Jacobs and an admitted Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya following her admission to the Malaysian Bar in 2019 after graduating in the Bachelor of Laws degree with Honors from the University of London and subsequently passed the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) and has been since actively practicing.
BIOGRAPHY
EDLYN was made Partner at the Firm because of her sheer passion, honesty and integrity. Before joining Messrs CN Jacobs, Edlyn chambered with Messrs Harjit Sandhu Wan & Associates where she exceled in case research, assisting her Master conducting Trials and Hearings. Upon being called to the Bar in 2019, she practiced as a Legal Assistant with Messrs Ho-Noecker & Pragasam where she actively conducted Hearings independently both in Lower and Higher courts. At Messrs CN Jacobs being a Partner, she takes cognizance of the day to day running of the Firm and is given the responsibility to oversee the Firm’s civil and criminal litigation matters. Edlyn is actively is involved in litigation matters in the Lower and Hight Courts in Malaysia including matters involving alternative dispute resolution and has represented clients at the Malaysian courts for various disputes.
In her varied practice, Edlyn serves a clientele that spans across various sectors such as logistics and corporate companies. Edlyn is big on a fact-based, realistic-solution oriented approach to litigation. Her main areas of practices include: -
